Frequently asked questions (for renting the entire center)

Q: Can I also take an option?
A: Yes, that is possible. If you take an option, you are not committed to anything yet. If someone else calls for the date you have chosen, we will contact you. We will then ask you to make a decision within three days. If we do not hear anything within 3 days, the option will expire. You must decide whether to convert the option into a booking no later than four months before the start of the retreat. With an option, nothing will be mentioned on our (Facebook) site or on the calendar.

Q: Do you also have single rooms?
A: No, in principle not. There are 2 to 4 person apartments, where when fully occupied, two people sleep upstairs and two people downstairs. There is no wall between them. (Look at the photos for more clarity). If the course leader decides to give an entire apartment to one person, then yes.

Q: Will there be other people at the centre during my course or workshop?
A: No, if you come to give a workshop, the entire center is at your disposal. However, Finca may have to do some maintenance work in the garden or on the building. This is done in consultation as much as possible.

Q: What is present in the room?
A: Look at the inventory list under this same heading (info and contact). What is not on it, is not there. We no longer lend out private items.

Q: Are there also chairs in the course room?
A: No, you can take the chairs from the adjacent Greenhouse into the hall. These are mostly old school chairs with good seating comfort.

Q: What is prsent in the kitchen?
A: Look at the inventory list under this same heading (info and contact). What is not on it, is not there. We no longer lend out private items

Q: Are bed linen included when I make a reservation?
A: No, bed linen is not included but it is mandatory. Made beds and towel packages can be booked for an additional charge.

Q: Is smoking allowed at Finca Vrij?
A: No, Finca Vrij is a smoke free center.

Q: Is there a charging point for electric cars?
A: No. You will find a charging point at Boutlaan 2 in Scharendijke, at the Plus.

Q: Can I decorate the course room and longe area to my own taste?
A: Yes, but only in consultation and within certain limits. For example, you may not hang, stick or pin anything to the walls. Plants and furniture may not be moved!

Q: Can I light candles?
A: No, according to fire safety regulations, candles may not be burned, but you can light tea lights in a safe holder (the holders are provided at the Finca).

Q: Can I have supplies delivered for a retreat?
A: Only within your rental period can items be delivered. Make sure that the address clearly states that it is Kapelleweg number 29a, so at the entrance of Finca Vrij center, otherwise everything       will be delivered to private. We do not accept orders, this means that you must always receive your goods yourself.

Q: Can I also clean myself to save costs?
A: Yes, that is allowed, but we do not recommend it. It is more work than you think and if you clean yourself, it must be done in such a way that we can sublet the center.
We will strictly monitor this, because we think a clean center is important.

Q: If people participate but don’t stay overnight, do I still have to pay?
A: Yes, the price is per person, per day, you pay for everyone present, including yourself, any assistants, cooks, masseurs, etc., whether you use a bed or not.

Q: Can I arrive earlier with my team?
A: Usually you can arrive 2 hours in advance to land yourself. It can sometimes happen that we only have a very short time between 2 retreats and then it is not possible because
of the cleaning. So don’t automatically assume that this is possible!

Q: Can someone stay overnight in their camper or tent on the site?
A: No, it is not permitted to spend the night in a camper or tent at Finca Vrij.

Q: Do I get a discount if I book multiple courses or workshops per year?
A: Yes, definitely. Send us an email and we will send you our discount percentages.

Q: What is the added value of booking at Finca Vrij?
A: In addition to having a beautiful, brand new and architecturally designed place at your disposal, there is also a large garden at your disposal.
    Finca Vrij has become an enormous place of power in recent years. Many people integrate the many places of power in the garden into their retreat.
   You can take wonderful walks right from the Finca and the beach is also close by.
   We also help to promote your workshop or retreat. We do this by sharing your event on our Facebook page and site and so far that works well.
