Finca Vrij is a retreat center, a center for awareness, a vacation destination and shop on Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland.
The whole center is for rent to give your own workshop or retreat, but also retreats and activities are organized by Finca Vrij (Erik and Estrella) themselves. If the center is not rented, you can rent an apartment for 2 people. So you can get a taste of the atmosphere, relax near the beach, but also you can, as a guest of Finca Vrij, join the classes in the hall during the vacation months. Besides that you can buy nice products, t shirts with inspiring texts, yoga bags, cocoa, drinking bottles etc. All products we sell are chosen with care. By selling the cocoa, 28 Balinese families are supported and by buying the yoga bags, children in a leprosy village in Kenya can go to school. You can read more about this in the shop.
Our motto is: “Do everything with love and attention!” and that is clearly felt by everyone. You can see it in the decoration, the care of the buildings and the garden, but it is also tangible in the personal attention for you as a human being when you are here.
Our motto is also, “Take care of the Earth!” which is clearly felt at Finca Vrij. For example, all clothing, which is for sale in the shop, is made of organic and recycled cotton and gardening is done according to the permaculture principle, without the use of chemicals.
Since we moved in here in December of 2014, a number of large ponds have been dug and we have planted a small 5000 trees and shrubs, creating a totally new ecosystem. In addition to the many species of birds that have settled in our place as a result, we have also acquired chickens and walking ducks, which provide delicious fresh eggs and, of course, it is just very cozy to see these little animals scurrying around. Our cats Cookie and Muffin keep the rats in check and our dog Joy enjoys all the liveliness all too much!
All information about renting out the center and/or the apartments, or selling retreats, clothing or other products can be found on this site. Feel free to look around.
